Women who received training on women’s human rights and joined vocational courses delivered by Altındağ and Yenimahalle Municipalities in Ankara and Bursa Osmangazi Municipality, were provided Job Search and Interview Techniques Seminars on 24 July 2017 and 7-11 August 2017 in Ankara and on 28 July 2017 in Bursa.
Seminars were given by the job counsellors of Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) under the project “More and Better Jobs for Women: Women’s Empowerment through Decent Jobs in Turkey,” implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and İŞKUR with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
Women, who received vocational courses of municipalities, were provided 10-week trainings on women’s human rights in March 2016 – February 2017 period as part of the project in project provinces of Ankara and Bursa in cooperation with the Yenimahalle and Altındağ Municipalities of Ankara and Osmangazi Municipality of Bursa to ensure strong entry of women into labour market. Women got their certificates on 8 February 2017.
As a follow up to the human rights seminars, women were also provided Job Search and Interview Techniques Seminars to enhance their employability by equipping them with further skills and information on job search and interview techniques.
Seminars for women who are affiliated with Yenimahalle Municipality were given on 24 July 2017; for women affiliated with Altındağ Municipality on 7-11 August 2017 and women affiliated with Bursa Osmangazi Municipality on 28 July 2017.
The seminars are planned to be repeated in September for those women who could not participate in the summer period. The seminars will also be held in İstanbul for women who received vocational courses by the Maltepe Municipality.
