The new public service announcement on women’s employment, prepared as part of the “More and Better Jobs for Women: Women’s Empowerment through Decent Work in Turkey” project and implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) Turkey Office began to be broadcast on Turkish national television channels in August 2017.
The public service announcement ‘Hands’ aims to raise awareness on the importance of decent work; women’s employment and empowerment among public in Turkey.
The work also provides an opportunity to generate awareness on gender equality, women’s employment and the crucial role of Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) in women’s participation in labour force in the country as well as to inform the public about the project.
Using the main theme and image of ‘hands of women and men working side by side,’ the public service announcement suggests that it is the equal labour force participation of women and men that enrich life and build the future.
The work was prepared under the project “More and Better Jobs for Women: Women’s Empowerment through Decent Work in Turkey” implemented jointly by the ILO and İŞKUR with funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
